Giclee
(pronounced zhee-klay)

From the French, meaning "sprayed" or "squirted." Coined in the 1990s as a common
industry term for high-quality, digital, inkjet art printing.  Also called piezography.
This has become a preferred method of printing for archival reproduction of artwork. Typically
giclee prints have at least 300 dpi resolution, use 12 colors of ink instead of the usual four to
achieve superb color reproduction and are printed on high-quality paper for longevity.
